El artículo tiene como objetivo el estudio del control interno de las posadas turísticas del estado Mérida, Venezuela, mediante el enfoque Marco Integrado de Control Interno. El estudio es descriptivo y el método inductivo. La muestra corresponde a 29 posadas turísticas de la zona metropolitana del mencionado estado, para lo cual se empleó la fórmula de población finita. El instrumento utilizado para la recolección de información fue el cuestionario aplicado a los dueños y administradores. Para analizar el sistema de control interno se utilizó la metodología propuesta por Ruiz (1998). Los resultados muestran que las posadas tienen un sistema de control interno frágil que les permite mitigar los riesgos a un nivel aceptable para cumplir sus objetivos.

The article aims to study the internal control of tourist inns in the state of Mérida, Venezuela, and its relationship with the Integrated Framework of Internal Control. The study is descriptive and the method, inductive. The sample corresponds to 29 tourist inns within the metropolitan area, the finite population formula was used. The instrument used for the collection of information was the questionnaire applied to owners and administrators. In order to analyze the internal control system, Ruíz’s methodology (1998) was used. The results show that the inns have a fragile internal control system that allows them to mitigate risks to an acceptable level in order to meet their objectives.
